Praying for Persecuted Church 2014

Sunday, November 2, 2014 was the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Under the leadership of Major Candi Frizzell, the Mesa Salvation Army Corps focused on praying for people all over the world who are persecuted for their faith. During our morning meeting, Major Marilyn Bawden spent some time informing us about the needs that our brothers and sisters have for prayer. She also showed us a moving video that reminded us of the seriousness of some of these people’s situations. We then spent some time in prayer. This time of prayer whetted our appetites for our special evening prayer time, which was arranged by Lieutenants Richard and Joanna Wang. During this prayer meeting, we prayed for specific prisoners who are in prisons all over the world because of their faith. We also prayed for specific countries where persecution and discrimination are rampant. We were all blessed by this time of prayer and we pray that the Lord will remind us often of the importance of praying for these precious brothers and sisters in Christ. We also pray that the Lord will minister to them and meet their needs as they suffer for the sake of Christ.
